Story Board

This is the first draft of our story board, it helped us to come up with an initial idea to base our film around. We used all of the information from our plan and previous mind maps to help develop our ideas.

After creating this original draft we then asked some people to look at our story boards and tell us what they think about them and also give us some crucial feedback in order to improve our story boards. This is what they thought was needed in our storyboards.
We then also realised that we needed to have some character changes as we couldn't get an actor to play our fifth character so we changed the storyboard accordingly.

Film Diary

Sunday 6th December

We filmed today for three hours at the location outside of Hillesley. Here we filmed all of the shots for our media film ready to edit and start creating the film.

Before we started filming for the day we did a quick run-through with our actors of what we wanted to achieve and how we were going to do it. We then also started to line up shots and see what camera angles worked and what angles didn't.  We did this with the help of our shot list and story board so we knew where we wanted people to stand and what we wanted them to do.

Unfortunately, like most filters we had to change a few of the shots that we were planning to do because of size issues in the barn, such as it being to thin, and because of health and safety issues that would break our terms of agreement with the owners of the barn, such as using the hay bales or climbing on them.

We wanted to make sure that we had enough versions of shots were filmed on the day so that we had a wide selection to choose from when we started to edit it. We also made sure that all of our shots were aesthetically pleasing by looking at the shots that we had done on the camera and re-filming any shots that we weren't happy with to make sure that we had everything we needed all on the same day.

Overall I think that our filming was highly successful and that we wouldn't have to re-film back at that location but instead use voice recordings and other sections of clips to create the same effect.

Shot List

This shot list really helped us when it came to filming, thanks to this list we were able to know what shots we were going to have to shoot on the filming day. Laying out our shot list like this also helped us when it came to editing certain shots for example we had to change some of the shots on the filming day to improve practicality. This list also helped us decide what type of shots we were going to use in succession so that we could make sure that our shots were continuous and weren't all from the same angle.
